French fashion touch for Montpellier’s third LRT line…

Engineering by Egis!

Montpellier’s new LRT line ran for the first time on 28th June. The train for the third line shows a flamboyant livery designed by the famous French fashion designer, Christian Lacroix.

On Tuesday 28th  June 2011, Montpellier’s new LRT line ran for the first time. After a decoration of swallows for the first line and flowers for the second, the train for the third line was no pale comparison with its flamboyant livery designed by the famous French fashion designer, Christian Lacroix.

After having managed the design and construction of the first two Montpellier LRT lines, Egis continues as prime contractor for lines 3 and 4.

Next stages: in line with schedule, the first official run on line 3 is planned at the end of July and system testing will begin in February 2012. The infrastructures and E&M equipment are now in the final stages of construction. Part of the line will be grassed over like in Strasbourg.

An Egis team effort

The design and construction consortium is led by Egis in partnership with Antoine Garcia Diaz. Egis Rail manages the team of 42 engineers and technicians. Egis Eau and Egis France are also involved in the project.
